Providing temperature-controlled environments for food and other
perishables are essential in today's global market. Through our Climate
Control Technologies sector and Thermo King and Hussmann brands, we
provide global solutions for the transportation and retail refrigeration
market.
Work as design engineer in R&D centre in Taicang China, with
responsibility for all assigned aspects of product development, Value
Engineering, Sustaining and Q&R engineering work. Carry out such
work as part of a team both locally and internationally.
The main responsibilities of this position are as follows:
1. Identify, design, and prototype product improvements and new unit
designs that will meet and exceed our customer and market requirements.
Focus initially on Marine products.
2. Act as a change agent, thinking 'out of the box' to bring about
change and innovation. Keep up to date with leading edge technical
developments that may contribute to the next generation product
concepts.
3. Work within the Company New Product Development process. Plan,
schedule and report on design projects in a professional manner, using
Project Management to coordinate strict deadlines. Co-ordinate where
necessary project efforts across non-engineering functions.
4. Use proficiency in Engineering, PROE software, together with
expertise on other related areas, such as vibration measurement, stress
analysis, FMEA, 6 Sigma, and failure analysis. Proficiency in Large
Assembly Techniques will be required as is a detailed understanding of
BOM and design structure.
5. Act as a resource, supporting other functions in the organisation, a
team player in Research and development, leading and supporting cross
functional teams, interplant teams, and external resources.
6. Work on and deliver agreed VA/VE and Q&R targets and project
manage same under the Company PLM process
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Honors Primary degree, or Masters Degree in
Mechanical/Manufacturing/Electronics Engineering, or a related
discipline.
English - other European language an advantage
Previous experience in other related areas, such as vibration
measurement, stress analysis, FMEA, 6 Sigma, and failure analysis is
desirable.
3 to 5 years relevant experience in Mechanical / Electrical automotive
type industry.
